This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 27, 2009:
Unfortunately I am terrible at accepting compliments. Most of the time I think people are joking and so I sort of laugh it off or make some sarcastic comment. I didn't really notice it until an old friend pointed it out recently.

Hi Bre :)
That used to be me!!! And then whatever it was that I said after that compliment kept playing in my head and I used to feel like a complete fool afterwards.
Now what I do is just gracefully smile and say “Thank You” whether or not I think that compliment is genuine or not. Let me tell you one thing, I really feel so good after…
Take care,
db
Well… yeah, I used to do that too!
But, I later found that instead of thinking of everyone being sarcastic, it was much better to find something genuine about them to compliment on the moment they complimented me!
:)
So, even if they WERE being sarcastic, they'd automatically have to think twice about being sarcastic with you the next time around, 'cause you're the one who paid them a genuine compliment the last time!
:P
Get it? It's easy as pie!
